Team FAQ

2014-05-05

Your one-stop-shop for all the little tips and facts you need for a great baseball season!

  • Respect is key. We are in this for the kids. Respect your teammates, parents - respect each other, and respect the coaches, referees, and opponents. Let's be a team the league and our kids can be proud of!
  • If your son cannot make a practice or game, please let Coach Matt know. A lot of work goes into game day line ups, so if you have to miss a game, please let the Coach know as far in advance as you can.
  • Almost all games are played at Finley Ray, we have one game at Riverside in Old Milford.
  • During games ALL players are to remain in the dugout with ALL of their equipment. When the kids have to run back & forth for drinks or gloves or helmets, etc. it starts to gets confusing. They need to be in batting order cheering on their teammates.
  • We will have batting order listed on the fence but these guys are old enough to help us stay in line, please help us remind them that paying attention helps everyone.
  • Write your son's name inside his hat.
  • NO siblings in the dugouts during games. We want to focus on the game.
  • The snack schedule for the season is posted in the News portion of our website. Snacks are $15 cash the day of the game and are purchased at the concession stand. Your purchase at the field supports Finley Ray!
  • We will need someone to keep the book every game, usually best if one or two people always do this to keep it uniform. Please let the coaches know if you are willing to help in this area.
  • Team colors are Royal Blue. Wear Royal blue socks to games.
  • Help us remind the players to talk to each other on the field.
  • We will always practice when the fields are open. Conditions may not always be ideal but it's Springtime in Cincinnati!
  • PLEASE REMIND THE KIDS THAT WHEN THEY ARE EXCITED & HAVING FUN THEY WILL PREFORM BETTER, EXCITEMENT ADDS SO MUCH TO THE GAME!
  • HOLIDAYS: There will not be practice on Memorial Day, May 26. We WILL have practice on Tuesday, May 27.
  • Tournaments follow after our last regular season game on June 25. Normally, the season is over on or before July 3.
  • If you want a bio on your son, send to Rachel Stevens at cincirachel@gmail.com
  • Send your favorite photos from the games to Rachel as well, and we will post on the website.
  • Coach Matt & Coach Tim do the best they can, however they are human! They are both pretty low key, understanding guys so please let your son know to always talk to them if they need to!
